FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When you visit a Chase Oaks Campus for the first time, you are our honored guest. We will do all we can to make sure your visit is a great one for you and your family. You might have some questions about what to expect when you visit. So, here are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan your trip. We hope to see you soon!

There will be lots of signs and people wearing either Chase Oaks t-shirts or lanyards with nametags to help you on your way.

If you have kids, follow the signs toward KIDS CO., where they are sure to have a great time. Our KIDS CO. leaders will get you checked in and will be happy to answer any of your questions about what KIDS CO. is all about.

Then, follow the signs toward the Auditorium for our weekend worship service.

Services last about one hour and ten minutes. We start by singing three to four worship songs. Our worship music style is pop/rock—contemporary, upbeat, and usually quite loud. (Earplugs are available at auditorium entrances and at the Info Center). Often, along with worship songs, our bands will perform an additional song (top 40, classic rock) when the subject matter fits with the topic of the day. Then, one of our pastors will teach in a casual, conversational style for about 35-40 minutes.

To see what our weekend experiences are like, visit our sermon series page here.

That’s a big question. We do a lot for kids. At Chase Oaks Church, we take the next generation very seriously, investing a disproportionate amount of resources in our kids and student ministries. Whether your child is very young (Birth–Kinder), in elementary, intermediate, middle school, or high school—we are certain that they will have a great time, make great friends, and learn a lot about the Bible and about God’s love for them.

Learn more by looking at the kids page and student page. Check the Campus pages for specific meeting times for the campus you are visiting.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Most people dress very casually at Chase Oaks (jeans and a t-shirt).

Visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating thing. We get it. But, Chase Oaks is a “come as you are” church. We are diverse in just about every sense of the word–racial and ethnic background, life stage and lifestyle, religious background and personal doubts, addictions and struggles, and sexual identity and orientation. All of our stories are different. Each of us is on a unique journey learning more about God and His love. Whoever you are and wherever you are coming from, you are welcome here.

Ray Miranda

Woodbridge Campus Pastor

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Ray moved to the Dallas area in 1995. As a non-church person, he surprised his family, friends, and co-workers by becoming a Christ-follower on March 1, 1998. The surprise continued as Ray went from being a new church attender to serving as a volunteer, then a leader, and eventually, a pastor. He married his wife Jazen in 2001, and together they have 3 kids. Ray loves road trips, family time, reading, sports, and helping people and the church become who we were created to be.
