Not only tragic and heart-breaking, this reality posed significant challenges for Ruth in her particular culture, including finding romance again. Our current culture presents challenges when it comes to dating and romance. What are some that come to your mind? What makes dating uniquely difficult in our day and age?
- Read Ruth 2:1-13. What was it about Ruth that captured Boaz’s heart? Do you see anything in the text that explains why he was so drawn to her?
- Did your criteria for a potential spouse change over time? If so, what caused it to change?
- Jeff said, “The best way to find the person you are looking for is to become the person you are looking for.” What does it practically mean to become that type of person?
