NAVIGATING CULTURE

We are a church that is passionate about our mission: to inspire people to follow Jesus and together change our world for good. God has called us to show his radical love to everyone in our community. As we focus on this mission and the core beliefs that hold us together, we want Chase Oaks to feel like a big tent: a place with plenty of room for people with messy lives and different stories to feel at home while they explore Jesus. Whatever your background or story, whether you believe or aren’t sure, you are welcome here.

When people are figuring out whether Chase Oaks might be a fit, we often get asked how we approach big cultural conversations happening right now. Below are a few recent messages that speak to some of these topics directly and thoughtfully.

If you’d like to keep the conversation going, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out here.

Loving Well in a Sexually Diverse World

Past experiences with church have led many in the LGBTQ+ community to believe Christians are against them. We think it should be the opposite: church can be one of the safest places any us find perspective, community, and healing. This message offers an honest conversation about approaching this topic with both compassion and conviction in a sexually diverse world.

Jesus + Politics

Few topics are as polarizing as politics. That's true today and was definitely true in Jesus’ day, too. In this message, discover how one surprising statement from Jesus brings clarity and wisdom to how we can wisely navigate our own current political moment.

We See Beauty in Diversity

Unity isn't the same as uniformity. God designed the “who” that makes up “us” to be beautifully diverse, for a reason. This message explores why we are committed to the meaningful work of bringing different people together for good.

What Jesus Thought About Women

In a world that told women they didn't matter, Jesus said otherwise. He invited them to learn, called them to lead, and trusted them first with the news he'd risen from the dead. His inclusion and elevation of women changed history. This message looks at how Jesus' example speaks to real questions about the role of women in the church today.
